Error Code E CH
High-side cycle leakage (sealed system)
Moderate
Address soon - your appliance may not work properly
How to Fix
- 1
Verify error using SVC App Step 1 to determine if sealed system or PCB issue. Check evaporator temperature to confirm sealed system problem.
- 2
Check PCB voltage outputs; if PCB voltages are abnormal, replace PCB.
- 3
Measure high and low side pressures and time for equalization after power off. If equalization takes more than 15 minutes, system restriction is confirmed.
- 4
If equalization pressure is above 20 psi, compressor is likely defective (sufficient refrigerant). Replace compressor.
- 5
If equalization pressure is 20 psi or less, refrigerant has leaked. Perform leak test on high pressure side (condenser, drier, compressor discharge pipe) using bubble test or leak detector.
- 6
If high-side leak found, replace the leaking part and drier together.
- 7
If no high-side leak found, inspect low-pressure side parts (evaporator, suction pipe).
- 8
If low-side leak found, replace the leaking part plus compressor and drier (moisture ingress risk on low side).
- 9
If no leak found, install UV drier and inspect at next service visit using UV light and goggles.
- 10
After sealed system repair, error code will disappear automatically when freezer reaches 14°F or below.
